I thought I would share with you the lovely stamp set that Claire, my SU 'Mum' gave me for Christmas. This stamp set retired before I new about Stampin' Up so I missed out on buying it so I was really excited about getting it for Christmas.
Here is the card I made using it.
Although the stamp set is retired everything else is current. I used the very vintage wheel in the background and the sentiments are from the happiest birthday wishes hostess stamp set, the one on the front fits the scallop circle punch perfectly but I punched the centre out and mounted it on the scallop circle. I used the latice square embossing folder for some texture in the background and the top note die for the card front and insert. The top note has to be one of my favourite dies as it is so versatile. Colour scheme is rose, olive green and crumb cake. To get the 2 different shades of red stamp onscrap first then it's a lighter shade on your card.

Scallop envelope die needle case
I've been full of cold for over a week now but managed to do a little bit of crafting today. I've been having a little play with my dies and felt and came up with this little needle case, not what I set out to make!
I cut the scallope envelope out of purple felt and made 2 little pages from pink felt, very similar to melon mambo. I sewed the melon mambo ribbon around the middle of theoutside of the envelope, it was easy to sew as the ribbon has little holes all away along. I sewed the little pages inside, one went right across the middle, sewed into the side flaps and one was sewn just into one side so it will lift up to get to the page underneath.
I sewed some velcro in for the closure. To decorate the front flap I die cut a pink felt flower using the funflower die and sewed it on with some more ribbon to hang at the back of it and a button on the front. There are a lot of improvements I can make but I'm pleased with my first attempt and it does the job of keeping my deedles safe.

Happy Christmas!
Just a quick post to say Happy Christmas. I hope you all have a lovely day. Here are some more bird boxes I made this time using non traditional colours, melon mambo and bashful blue and the hostess DSP which I love.
I hope you have a lovely day and remember to take lots of pictures that you can put in a scrap book next year!
I used the woodgrain background stamp to make the wood grain effect on the pink birdbox. The robins are made using the two-step bird punch again with a whinestone eye.I hope you have a lovely day and remember to take lots of pictures that you can put in a scrap book next year!

More Christmas Decorations and simply stampin' challenge
The challenge this week over at the simply stampin' blog is Christmas which is very apt as I am sure we all have lots of Christmasy things to show off, I have made some more decorations for my tree which is looking very festive with lots of hand crafted decorations. My lovely friend Val has just popped a round with a Christmas present for us, a beautifully decorated Christmas cake she made for us and some lovely gingerbread christmas trees and stars to hang on the tree. I will have to take some pictures before we eat them!
Here are some more little decorations I made using the season of joy stamp set and scallop circle and circle punches. I put the little snowman on the grid paper and drew around it to know what size little box to make, punched holes in the side, stuck the scalloped circles on either side and hung them up using some silver thread.

I used bashful blue and tempting turquoise ink and card stock. They look lovely on the christmas tree although I must say some of the snowmen seem to have melted away!

More Christmas Cards
Well not long now before Christmas, are you all sorted for the big day? Here's another Christmas Card I made this time using the ornament punch and contempo christmas stamp. The branches of the christmas tree were made using the lovely as a tree stamp.
The colour scheme is cherry cobbler and old olive, I used the spritzer tool with the marker pens to make the splatter. I used the contempo wheel for the insert.

Polar Party Christmas Cards
Don't get too close, I'm full of cold! Here's some christmas cards I made using polar party stamp set and my faithful stamp-a-ma-jig to line everything up.
I used pool party dsp and card stock and island indigo card. I made the lacy border with the lace ribbon punch cut in half. Aren't those penguins cute?
The little flower decoration is also cut from the lace ribbon punch with a circle of island indigo card behind and topped with a gem.

Triple treat flower boxes and gingerbread
I thought I'd share with you the lovely gingerbread men that Jessica made, they were very tasty.
I have made some more things with the triple treat flower stamp, I love this stamp as there is a punch to match everything! This time I used some vibrant colours, real red and night of navy stamped on whisper white, I think it gives quite a scandinavian look, what do you think?
I made some boxes and filled whem with chocolate balls from M & S, decorated with scallop border punch and decorated the top with the triple treat flower and lace ribbon punch.
I made a little matching gift card that fits into the mini scallop envelope. These little boxes are easy to make and would look lovely at a dinner party as a favour box.Sunday, 4 December 2011
Triple treat flower birthday
It's Jessica's birthday, 8 today. I have made her a very pink birthday card, melon mambo and pretty in pink. I used the triple treat flower, a single stamp and it is great because it co-ordinates with fun flower, five petal flower and 1/2" circle punch.
Well I'd best finish making the sandwiches as we will have a house full of 7 and 8 year olds very shortly!

How to use a stamp-a-ma-jig!
I have often mentioned my stamp-a-ma-jig, (SMJ) and I bet a lot of you are wondering what on earth I am talking about! A SMJ is a brilliant tool that helps you align a stamp exactly where you want it, which is great for two-step stamps or if you want to stamp a regular background sheet. This is a stamp-a-ma-jig. Line your clear sheet so it fits snugly in the corner of your SMJ.
Then ink up your stamp and stamp the image with your stamp snugly in the corner.
Now put this stamped image wherever you want it on your card stock then make sure the SMJ is butted up to the corner of the image.
Now carefully remove the clear sheet without moving your SMJ and put your stamp there instead.
Carry on this process if you want to fill in the whole sheet of card, aligning your clear sheet image next to your stamped one etc.
I stamped all the way down the card and used it to make this.
If I hadn't used my SMJ I would have made a big mess, believe me! If you would like to order one from me just let me know.

More Season of Joy!!
One more season of joy project, I promise, (for now anyway!). Another chocolate box card, this time I used some traditional Christmas colours, real red and olive green. I randomly stamped a sheet of whisper white card then cut it out to use on the cards.
I used the oval frame embossing folderas the punched extra large oval fits perfectly inside.
For the second card I used the four frames stamp and matching punch for the centre topper.

Chocolate Treat card
I have made some more chocolate gift cards for the craft fair. Funny how most of the things I make for the craft fair involve chocolate!
I have used the Season of Joy stamp set again, I love this set. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the word stamp for the background.
The first card uses night of navy and the second card bashful blue. I used the scallop trim border punch for decoration.

Christmas Craft Fair
I have been very busy making things for the:
Christmas Craft Fair Saturday 10th December 10am-3pm
at Guisborough Sea Cadets,
Belmangate
Guisborough
There will be lots of different stalls there, tombola and raffles as well as drinks and snacks so why not come along and see me if you are in the area.
These are some of the bird boxes I have been making, although I have changed the chocolate buttons inside and put some yummby wrapped chocolate balls in from M & S as I thought they looked more chocolatey. Which also meant I got to eat the chocolate buttons!
I love making these and they look great hung on the tree or you could use them as place settings or table decorations. I made the robin using the 2 step bird punch.

Un-convention challenges
Stampin' Up are having their European Convention in Disney Land Paris this weekend and I am sure they are having a fantastic time. For those of us who haven't gone we are having a weekend of challenges on the In Love With Stamping Demo's Forum to keep us all busy.
I have done a combination of yesterdays challenge which was to make a card and gift set and tonight's challenge which is in two parts:
Part one is to incorporate a repeated stamped image. This can be a picture or a sentiment, or both!
Part two is a form of colour repetition in that the colour theme is MONOCHROME. This means you can use any colour, but you must only use shades/hues of ONE colour (e.g. all blues, all greens etc). White is also allowed.
This my effort. The card is a combination of card and treat box and holds three Elizabeth Shaw mints, it's yesterdays challenge as it has gold in. I also made a bagalope which is a bag made out of an envelope.
I used chocolate chip and very vanilla card stock and chocolate chip ink and Season of Joy stamp set. For the card/treat box I also used the Dasher stamp, The Victorian lace is from our new catalogue and is gorgeous, I used an antique brad to secure it.
I made the bagalope out of a very vanilla envelope which is beautiful to stamp on. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to repeat stamp the season of joy stamp on the top note and made the background with the swirl and tiny poinsettia and secured the top with crumb cake seam binding.

I have also been having lots of fun making some treat holders for halloween using punches and the great frightful sight DSP we have.
I die cut 2 scallop envelopes for the treat holder and made the ghost using the owl punch, just turn the body upside down and cut his feet off!
For the spider box I used the pillow box die and circle punches for the spider although I think he's more cute than scary!
The pumpkin is made using the oval punch and the leaves from the 2 step bird punch.
