ILWS Sale-a-Bration Blog Hop

Hi today is In Love With Stamping's Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop, you may have come from Sandra's Blog. There are lots of gorgeous Sale-A-Bration products to choose from and I decided to hi-light the Petal Parade Stamp Set and Sweet Sorbet DSP.
I adapted this tutorial from Rachel Tessman which used a sheet of 12 x 12  to make a note holder. I used a piece of crisp cantaloupe A4 card and decorated it with some Sweet Sorbet DSP and flowers stamped using the Petal Parade stamp set.
Stampin' Up' notelets and envelopes fit perfectly inside so it makes a lovely gift.
Here are the notelets I decorated to go inside the holder:
I love making these notelet holders, I made another set for my new Neighbour which I'll show you another day.Thank you for popping over, the next blog is the lovely Donna's.

ILWS Blog Hop - More Amore Shadow Box

Hello, you have probably popped over from the lovely Claire's blog. I have been very busy playing with products from the Spring/Summer Seasonal catalogue.  It is full of gorgeous goodies and the first thing I want to show you is a Shadow Box that I decorated and used to display one of our wedding photos.  It is a 6 x 6 plain wood shadow box that I bought from the Range and painted  with some cream acrylic craft paint. I used the More Amore Speciality papers, Hearts a Flutter stamp set/framelits and the Artisan Embellishment Kit. I thought the wide lace and flowers really complemented the photo, yes I know, don't we look young!.
I cut out one of the laser cut hearts from the Speciality DSP and used it as a mask, laying it on the frame and sponging crumb cake ink over it, when you remove the heart it makes a great outline. I have used this technique a lot lately, if it stands still it gets sponged!
The second thing I want to show you is a quick card I made using the heart I used for all that sponging. The back sides of the hearts are white so you can ink them up and change them to match your colour scheme.
I did some more sponging on very vanilla card then stuck the heart down, the sentiment is from the Pursuit of Happiness stamp set. I think this would make a lovely Wedding or Anniversary card.

Thank you for popping over, the next hop along is to Katie's blog.
There are lots of things going on in the world of Stampin' Up!, the new Spring/Summer Seasonal Catalogue starts today and it is also Sale-a-Bration time. I will update my blog with all this new info ASAP!

In Love With Stamping Blog Hop!

Welcome to the In Love With Stamping Stampin' Up Autumn/Winter and 12/13 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop! I suspect you have just popped over from the lovely Elaina's blog. I thought I would showcase the very cute Frosty Friends stamp from the Autumn/Winter catalogue, at only £10.95 it is a great for new stampers and those who want to make some quick fun cards, (and don't want to spend too much as they have already bought the Amazing Ornament Keepsake Bundle!).
Introducing Frosty Friends.....

My first card is an ideal card for new stampers as you only need the one stamp, a set of 2011-2013 in-colour Stampin' Write marker pens, In-Colour card bundle, whisper white, dazzling details glitter and the festival of Prints Designer Paper Stack, (also some adhesive and scissors/paper trimmer!).
The colour scheme is Island Indigo and Pool Party.

For my second card I also used the Greetings of the Season stamp set,(greeting is inside so you can't see it!) the 1 1/4"Scallop Circle Punch and the 1" Circle Punch.

Last but not least is a box card I made using Frenchie Jo's Tutorial. I love these little box cards they only use half a sheet of A4 card stock but with a little chocolate treat in they make ideal Christmas cards for the children's teachers, work colleagues and neighbours etc... In addition to the basic kit you need the modern label punch (I also used a little strip of acetate for the window) but if you haven't got this you could always leave the window out, more of a surprise when you open the little box. I changed the top of the box so that you can open and close it without tearing the box. Don't stick the little strip down, close both ends and trim the lid as in my picture, I used the punched out modern label to make the tab to open the lid. (This will make more sense once you have looked at the tutorial!)

See you later...

Thank you for stopping by, your next hop is over to the wonderful Sarah . If you like what you see please follow me! (Free Attic Boutique Handbag Tutorial for all my followers - just email me and let me know you are following me).

Stampin' Up Summer Mini Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog, you have probably hopped over from Frankiesue's.  I have been very busy with the simply scored tool which I love, this is my creation I have chosen to show you. It's a wreath made with the gorgeous twitterpated papers, fabric and pleated ribbon. The wreath is made of 2 backing cards from DSP packs, I drew around a dinner plate and a tea plate and cut out then wrapped it with some wadding, don't worry, if we make this in class I will get some polysterene wreaths!  I then wrapped some strips of twitterpated fabric around. I think the fabric was about 1 1/2" wide and I sewed the strips together for easiness.

The rosettes are so easy to make using the simply scored tool. I used strips of 12" long  twitterpated DSP, the strips were 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2" and one 2" wide. I scored them every 1/4". Cut how much of each paper you want to use, (for e.g. 6") and score the whole piece and then cut it into strips. Remember the width of the finished rosette will be twice the width of the strip so a 2" rosette is made from a 1" wide strip. For the large rosette I used two 2" strips stuck together. There are a lot of tutorials on how to make the rosettes or lollies as the US Demo's call them, here is one.

I have used a variety of things to decorate the top of the rosettes. Flowers made using the boho blossom punch and pearls and the twitterpated buttons. The ribbon flowers are made using the new pleated satin ribbon which I love! They are so easy to make, punch a circle out of card stock and cover it with sticky strip, then starting from the outside wrap your ribbon round finishing in the center.

I hope you enjoyed your little stop over, the next hop is over to Angela who I know will have something fantstic to show you.  Thank you for looking.
