Botanical Gazette Junque Journal

The Scraps of My Life by Julie: Junque Journal/Album Challenge Contest! GO!!
I found this lovely blog  http://thescrapsofmylifebyjulie.blogspot.com/ and thought I'd have a go at the Junque Journal challange.  This is my first attempt at a Junque Journal or even a journal. I have mainly used the nature walk stamp set and botanical gazette DSP as I love this stamp set and it co-ordinates beautifully with the DSP. This whole journal reminds me of country walks with my family and with My Mum when I was a child.

I made a little pocket and tag for journaling. I've used marina mist and cherry cobbler again as they are some of my favourite colours along with early expresso.  Sorry this is going to be a long post.....

I've used a lot of masking, e.g. stamping the bird then stamping him again on some scrap paper cutting him out and covering the stamped image, then you stamp over it and it looks like he's at the front. I coloured in using my ink pads and blender pen rather than using markers and it gives a softer look.

This time I used a square as a mask to make a photo frame. Stamping on very vanilla.

On the next page I took a rest from nature walk and used Strength and Hope with the bird punch and beautiful wings embosslit with the botanical gazette DSP and ruffled some crumb cake seam binding ribbon. I made a little note flap using the top note die.
I hope you're sitting comfortably because there's more! This page reminds me of the family picnics we went on every Easter at my uncles farm, it's the eggs and the brown page, although I used early expresso not chocolate chip card! I embossed the bird cage stamp from nature walk with gold embossing powder and made a cork board top note, I love the different textures.

The next page is simple with top note journal space and gold embossed bird.

The last 2 pages are cherry cobbler ones as red is my favourite colour. I made a little gift card/note holder using the top note die, this is from a tutorial by Stampin with Dawn and is really quick and easy.

For my last page I used the vintage wallpaper embossing folder to add some texture and the notably ornate and strength and hope stamp set.

This is the inside cover:

Thank you for looking, I can't wait to start filling it in, I've used book rings to hold it together so I can easily add more pages too!

  2. Wow, you have been busy! Love this, especially (like Joanne) the photo frame page. So much work involved but the end result is stunning, well done Anne-Marie :)
