Noel Banner

Sorry, long time no blog. The other Saturday I had a Christmas Decorations class so I have quite a few things to share.  The first is a Noel Banner - it was going to say Christmas but I thought we'd be there till midnight if we did that! I used the pennant die, this is the first time I've used it and I love it especially the two circle ones. Here's the banner:

 We then made a box for it to go in. The colour way is real red and lucky limeade and Candle Light DSP and the Broadsheet Alphabet and Greetings of the Season stamp set.

Delicate Doilies One Sheet Wonder #3

The last of the Delicate Doilies one sheet wonder cards. I will have to do these again in another colour way, I fancy a vintage look.

Delicate Doilies One Sheet Wonder #2

Here are the next two cards we made using the delicate doilies one sheet wonder.  We made Christmas cards but just change the sentiments/colours and you have Birthday, Thank You cards.....etc.

I forgot to take a picture of the second card open but the front is shorter than the back so the end piece is actually on the inside of the card, if you get what I mean! The trim is made using the scallop trim border punch, another favourite.

Delicate Doilies One Sheet Wonder

We made a one sheet wonder at class on Wednesday, hello to Sue and Viv who joined us for the first time. A one sheet wonder is where you cut up a sheet of stamped paper or designer series paper to make several cards. We stamped a sheet of whisper white using the delicate doilies stamp set then cut it up to make six cards.  The colour way was midnight muse and pool party. This is a great way to make several cards quickly, we could have easily made 8 cards if we repeated some of the designs. Here are the first two cards we made:

The second card can be used as a gift card holder as it has a pocket inside.

The sentiments are from the Greetings of the Season stamp set which I am using a lot at the moment.

Forever Young and more Brayering.

I have definitely got the brayering bug, it's definitely something that you need to practise and experiment with. Todays card is a sunset using daffodil delight, pumpkin pie, real red and old olive, again I used a circle for the mask. The tree/swing is from the Forever Young stamp set and is stamped in early expresso, I got the idea for this from the amazing Michelle Zindorf's blog.

 It is a flip flop card made using the label framelit dies. There is certainly room for improvement with my brayering but I enjoy it so you will have to just grin and bear it!

Lovely as a Tree, salt and brayering

One of my favourite stamp sets is Stampin' Up's Lovely as a Tree, it is so versatile, great for men's cards, sympathy, Christmas, etc. My first card is a very simple Christmas card, the sentiment is from greetings of the Season and the colour is Midnight Muse.

I then dusted my brayer off and tried a little winter landscape using pacific point, (my new favourite!) and a post-it note punched circle to mask my moon. The snowy effect was made by using table salt, sprinkle it over your card, roll it through the big shot then brush off, brayer as usual.

We practised brayering in the Wednesday class last week, doing some things for a calender we are making, I will show you it once we've finished. It was nice to try a new technique and some ladies took to it like a fish to water! If you would like to come along to one of my classes just let me know.
